The Rockhampton Grammar School offers needs-based Bursaries to students entering RGS in Years 7 through 11, who would greatly benefit from an education at The Rockhampton Grammar School, but who without financial assistance would be otherwise unable to attend.
To be eligible to apply for a Bursary at RGS, applicants must:

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted to attend an interview with the Headmaster. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised.
If a Bursary offer is accepted, an RGS Application for Admission must be completed.
The following supporting documents are required when submitting an RGS Bursary application form:
A Bursary may cover all or part of the student's tuition fees. Each Bursary is subject to annual review of the student’s all-round performance and active involvement in school life, and the family’s ongoing financial position. The Scholarship does not apply to any other School fees, including boarding fees, levies, uniforms, textbooks and supplies, co-curricular costs, excursions, camps etc.
A current student of The Rockhampton Grammar School cannot apply for a Bursary, except on a demonstrated ‘needs’ basis due to a significant change in circumstances. Current RGS families in this situation are welcome to complete a Special Circumstances Bursary Application. Please contact the Finance Manager for more information.

The Board of Trustees, believing in the educational advantages available to young people at The Rockhampton Grammar School, established the 1881 Endowment, a School fund that enables means-tested students from all backgrounds to study here annually at reduced rates. Financial support for the Endowment emanates from the generosity of dedicated donors, supplemented by the proceeds generated from School events and fundraising initiatives. Recipients of the 1881 Endowment bursaries are selected based on their well-rounded excellence, encompassing good academic achievements, exemplary behaviour, and commendable effort, alongside a demonstrated financial need.
New students in Years 7 - 11 are eligible to be considered for this Bursary.
A Lupton Bursary is awarded to general excellence students who are willing to become constructive and involved members of the School community, participating fully in all aspects of school life.

The Wilson Family Bursary is awarded to support students in achieving academic, leadership, research or management pursuits in the agricultural sector.
Please indicate on the Bursary Application form if you wish for your child to be considered for this Bursary. Additionally, parents are asked to outline their child's passion for agriculture and express their interest in pursuing studies in this field within the Bursary application cover letter.
New students in Years 7 - 11 with a passion for agriculture are eligible to be considered for this Bursary. Boarding students are strongly encouraged to apply.
Committed to upholding the legacy of countless accomplished Grammarians, the RGS Alumni Association proudly awards the RGS Alumni Bursary to deserving students who exhibit general excellence and are means-tested, while also maintaining a direct family connection to the School.
New students in Years 7 - 11 who are a direct descendant of someone who attended RGS for at least one academic year are eligible to be considered for this Bursary. Please outline your family connection to the School on the Bursary Application form.
